Missing Auntie Heidi

When Heidi and Jeff lived in Germany my kids would see pictures of them. One day Luke asked me, "Mom, where is Auntie Heidi? Did she die?" I was, of course, taken back and replied the obvious, "No, but she lives far away." Ana then asked if we could go visit her to which I said, "No Sweety, she lives very far away." Ana, in her infinite four year old wisdom, said, "Well, we could walk." I had to explain that our legs would get very tired if we tried to walk . Ana thought for a minute and said, "We could drive in our car." I then had to explain that cars cannot drive on water and we would have to cross an ocean to reach Auntie Heidi. Totally annoyed by that time and in her most matter-of-fact tone, Ana stated, "Well then, we will swim!"

I'm so glad we don't have to swim to see you next week!

Star Wars to a 6 Year Old

Luke loves the old Star Wars movies. He has a Star Wars Xbox game where all the characters are made out of Legos. It's pretty entertaining to watch him talk to them while he's playing. Anyways, the other day he address Jared and I as "Queen Mommydala" and "Darth Dadder." Atleast I get to be a good guy! :)

Oh, Waiter!!!

Yesterday morning Olivia finished her bowl of "manas and cheeooos" (bananas and cheerios-for those who don't speak her language) and held her little blue dish in the air saying in her most demanding, yet dignified, voice, "Mommy, take it away!" When I didn't comply immediately she turned her bowl upside down over her sippy cup and began singing into it, "No more dinna. Dinna alllll gone! Take it away!" This little girl speaks much too well for her age!
